I’ve been getting a lot of emails and comments about the “Riley” scene in Shane’s Fury. Now I won’t get into a ton of details because I know that not everyone has read it yet. All I will say is—I hope you will trust me. There’s a very valid reason behind that scene that will become more apparent when Riley and Colin’s book comes out. The event is the setup for their relationship and the problems that will arise from Riley’s impulsive decision. I have never written sex for sex’s sake and I promise I’m not going down that path now. I will always and forever remain true to writing plot over heat.
For those of you who still haven't read Shane's Fury, it's available now at eXtasy Books.
I read the book yesterday evening and I can totally see where you're going with that scene. It makes sense to me!
ReplyDeleteChris-Thanks so much! I can say it was a really hard scene to write, since I usually don't go that close to the edge.
ReplyDeleteNow you guys have me SOOOO courious. :-) Can't wait to read it.
ReplyDeleteThere have been a few discussions on this kind of thing (I'm assuming), about what some romance readers will tolerate, things like once the couple meet no more looking at anyone else, no touchy especially. however I'm more go with teh flow on that. You write what fits, sometimes people will love it, sometimes they'll give you the raised eyebrow.
I bought it last night. It's next on my tbr. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is hard to remember that, when reading a series, the reasons for an event may not be immediately evident. You may actually have to read two or more books before things get fully explained.
Loved this book!! I always wait to see where things are going. I make no guesses anymore, because I am always wrong!! :) I wait for the answer! :D
ReplyDeleteTam-Thanks, this is kind of new for me. I'm not used to creating controversy.
ReplyDeleteEyre-Exactly!There really is a reason why Riley made such a dumb butt move, but it won't become clear until his book, which will be titled Riley's Regret.
LaceFace-I'm so, so happy you liked the book. Thank you!
