Target Boycott

Last month, the news broke that Target Corp. donated $150,000 to a political group that backs up gubernatorial candidate, Tom Emmer. Mr.Emmer has made his anti-gay views perfectly clear on many occasions. As the mother of a gay son, I am both disappointed and saddened by Target's actions and have joined in the boycott of their store until they cease such activities. I urge everyone to check out the Boycott Target Until They Cease Funding Anti-Gay Politics Facebook page for more information. Meanwhile, I urge you to check out this video montage of the various pictures of protesters.

  1. I'll have to watch that when I get home this evening. Thanks. My boycott's going well - I really just needed to find an alternate source for kitty litter. :)

  2. Well, Target has yet to invade North of the Border, so I'm good, but to be honest, I'm a bit tired of big stores like Target, Walmart and PetSmart. I haven't been to a Walmart in months and try to go only when I know they are the only ones who carry something. Although the PetSmart is closer to me by 10 blocks, I have been purposely shopping at the tiny independent pet store. I may pay a dollar more for my litter or cat food, but I figure it's worth it.

    Keep up the boycott.

  3. It's a really good video, Chris. We went to K-Marts the other day because of the boycott and ended up saving a ton of money.

  4. The bigger stores are less personal for me too, Tam. So I also try to shop at the Mom and Pop stores unless it's something I can't get anywhere else.

  6. I was disappointing to me, as well. I had just dropped $600 there when I bought school clothes for the kids, too.

  7. Great video! My Target boycott is going well. Target doesn't have anything that I can't get somewhere else, and the things I did buy there are cheaper at other stores anyway.

  8. I've been discovering that too, Eyre. I got a great deal on a comforter set for my daughter the other day. I would have never found that steal if I had gone to Target.
