Flash Mob for the Trevor Project

This past Saturday a flash mob performed to  "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"  in support of the Trevor Project. The message was quite simple, "Talk to me." People just don't realize how powerful those three words can be. So next time you see somebody who is lost, sad, scared or alone, don't be afraid to go up to them and say, "Talk to me." You'd be amazed at how helpful and healing a sympathetic ear can be.

For more information on the Trevor Project, you can go to their website http://www.TheTrevorProject.org. You can also call them at The Trevor Lifeline at 866-488-7386. It's free, confidential and available 24/7, plus everything you say to them is 100% confidential.

PFLAG-You Don't Have to Wait

Attending high school can be hard enough without having the added burden of bullying on top of it. Every day GBLT teens face verbal and physical abuse at the hands of their classmates. We all need to work together to make school a safe place for ALL teens, no mater who they may be. In my opinion the best way to do this is through advocacy and education. PFLAG, GLSEN and The Trevor Project have all stepped forward to offer great resources and support. I urge everyone to check them out.

Broadway sings for the Trevor Project

I know I've been posting a lot of videos lately, but when I spotted this link on the Detroit PFLAG website, I knew this one was too important not to share. In the wake of all the teen GBLT suicides that have occurred lately, several Broadway stars got together to make this video in support of The Trevor Project. I encourage you to watch and then share, so the word gets around.
